User Reviews

The Picklr draws mixed reviews. Many users report stability problems and unreliable waitlists that ruin the booking experience, along with a cluttered UI. A core frustration is the lack of built-in club messaging and the need to juggle separate apps to coordinate play, compounding UX issues. A few reviewers note the app is easy to use and valuable when it functions, suggesting the product could shine with improved stability and feature completeness.
Pros
  • When the app works, booking courts is easy and intuitive.
  • Some reviewers find it user-friendly and easy to sign up for leagues.
  • Convenience of adding friends to your list and managing reservations for group play.
  • Positive club/community vibe and overall value when functioning.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and performance issues across devices.
  • Waitlist functionality is broken/unreliable, with sessions changing unexpectedly and poor/notified availability.
  • Cluttered, non-intuitive UI and difficult calendar/navigation.
  • Lacks built-in messaging; coordination requires external apps (Swish, Teamreach).
  • Reliance on multiple apps and external services degrades user experience.

Terrible UI to try to find and sign up for open plays and group plays. Super confusing layouts. In addition, it doesn’t have the most basic capability you would want, which is to message other members at your club to set up group play. Instead, we have to use Swish to keep score for round robins and then use Teamreach, but wait only the club can message members on teamreach. Seriously, that might as well be social media since that’s the only use for it. Pickleball is supposed to be about community, so I’m paying a monthly fee for something that gives me less access than just having a WhatsApp group with the local public park. Picklr needs to rethink this approach. Also, why would they be ok with members needing 3 different apps.thats just a poor user experience. If I could set up group play with other members, I’d happily pay the high monthly membership, but with the constraints I’m not sure I’ll stick around and I’m hearing the same from other members for the club that just opened a week ago.

If you click on one of your sessions you’re waitlisted for, you are often taken to the next session you’re actually signed up for. I have reported being unable to sign up for sessions multiple times and always “The manager will call”. I get taken off the waitlist with no notifications despite them being turned on. It’s impossible to figure out how to take yourself off a waitlist.
