Features & Capabilities

Jay Peak is your official Chrome extension guide to Jay Peak Resort. It puts the mountain at your fingertips with a clear trail map, groomed and closed run indicators, and the ability to share your location with friends on the map. You can track your runs and log vertical feet and distance, with optional Health app workout integration on iPhone and iCloud backup for easy access on all devices.

Stay up to date with mountain information—from snow conditions, weather, and webcam images to lift status and events. The extension also helps you locate lessons, important facilities via a built-in directory, and view the latest news from social posts. Note that location services use GPS and may affect battery life.

User Reviews

The Jay Peak app is praised for its strong day-to-day run tracking, 3D view, and being a comprehensive, all-in-one source for mountain info, including trails, lifts, weather, and photos, with good Apple Watch support and a safety link to ski patrol. However, reliability issues dominate: tracking often misses runs, data disappears, and the app sometimes requires restarts; live group tracking is questionable. Users also want manual run entry and note the price as a drawback. Overall, great concept with notable reliability problems.
Pros
  • Strong day-by-day run tracking with a 3D view.
  • All-in-one app for tracking, trails and lifts, weather, and resort info.
  • Weather and snow updates (Tim Kelly forecast) are a standout feature.
  • Apple Watch support and 3D playback of runs.
  • Safety feature via quick link to ski patrol.
Cons
  • Tracking can be unreliable, with missed runs and disappearing data.
  • Live group tracking is questionable/unreliable.
  • No manual entry option to add runs when tracking fails.
  • Expensive price.
  • Occasional glitches (camera issues, map dots freeze).

It was an awesome app. Now I have to close and reopen after every run and post or it loses runs. I’ve lost entire days.

Great, even for daily tracking. The 3D view of your day is awesome. Having a quick link to ski patrol is an awesome safety feature. I did have to use it once for a friend who got hurt and I got ahold of ski patrol directly and they were on site in minutes. It does have some occasional glitches if you are tracking every day, but they are fewer than last year. I only wish that the tracking would go beyond April 30.
