Features & Capabilities

Scripture Notes is a cloud-based personal research assistant designed to help you 10x your scripture study. It enables Boolean searches, instant notes on any verse (even from search results), and immediate access to reference tools like Webster's 1828 Dictionary, Blue Letter Bible for Hebrew/Greek definitions, and Bible Hub translations. Use Collection Notes to record and organize your insights as you study.

In this initial stage, local storage is not active yet. The library is expanding to include Apocrypha, Book of Jasher, Lectures on Faith, and more. In this early release you'll need to register for an account to save data; the account is tied to a modest subscription to support ongoing development. A generous free tier remains, with paid options unlocking additional books and Collection Notes. The app is focused on delivering fast revelation in a powerful, mobile-friendly study experience.

User Reviews

Users praise Scripture Notes for AI-assisted study, versatile notes, powerful search, cross-device syncing, and resource links. Recurrent drawbacks include weak mobile/iPad UX, billing/trial friction, sign-in problems, stability issues, and a noticeable learning curve. It is a strong, evolving tool for focused scripture study, especially for users who invest time to learn its workflow, but it may be less ideal for mobile-only use or for those seeking a turnkey, fully polished experience.
Pros
  • AI assistant provides helpful scripture insights and answers to gospel and life questions.
  • Verse and collection notes with quotes enable rich, organized study.
  • Powerful search capabilities (Boolean, parentheses, excluding terms) with non-destructive multi-pane results.
  • Cross-device syncing and strong desktop/mobile experience; notes accessible across computer, phone, and iPad.
  • Integrated external resources (Bible Hub, Blue Letter Bible, LDS Citation Index) and easy linking for study.
Cons
  • Mobile/iPad usability gaps: no native iPad version and a limited, single-pane layout on phones; inconsistent mobile UX.
  • Pricing and trial issues: monthly charges, immediate billing after trial, and difficult cancellation.
  • Sign-in/registration and account access problems.
  • Occasional stability issues and bugs, including crashes and flaky behavior.
  • Learning curve and some interface quirks that make the app feel unfinished.

Awful app. Can’t find settings. Can’t delete my trial when I go to leave A. message. I can’t scroll up and down my message to look for errors or to change wording. This was put out before someone figured how awful it’s design an application where it’s not finished.

I love the AI assistant for any gospel question and life questions I have

I want to like this app and the desk top version works great but I’m on my phone a lot. I can’t figure out how to move a scripture to a CN, I cannot update the library Home Screen, and the app crashed twice during one SS lesson. Also I’d love a dark mode.
