User Reviews

Swiftfin shows UI polish and speed improvements over Jellyfin's app, with better subtitle handling in some cases and multi-user PIN protection. However it suffers from recurring login prompts, audio/subtitle playback bugs, server connectivity errors, missing offline/downloads and playlists, and cross-device instability.
Pros
  • Cleaner UI and faster, smoother performance than Jellyfin's own app
  • Improved subtitle rendering (where it works)
  • Smooth playback scrubbing and navigation
  • Multi-user support with quick switch and PIN protection
Cons
  • Frequent logouts / re-login prompts and having to re-enter server info
  • Audio/subtitle/ playback bugs (audio track switching, missing subtitles, playback gaps)
  • Server connectivity issues and 404/index errors (unable to connect to server)
  • Missing offline download and playlist features
  • Stability issues across devices (including Apple TV) and ongoing bugs

- Logs out constantly, have to re-enter the server address and log in - Allows me to add a server that is HTTPS with http://. This doesn’t fail. But, can’t log in. But, also can’t add a second server, because it says it’s already added, even though the schema is different. The kicker, no way to remove a server. So I’m regularly uninstalling and reinstalling. - If multiple audio tracks, it defaults to the non-english version a lot (I’ll get the commentary track), and switching audio tracks doesn’t work. All in all, it’s usable for most media, but barely, and frustratingly so.

This client fixed all my issues! On Jellyfin, I couldn’t get subtitles to work across my media properly at all. Some episodes failed to play. Downloaded this client instead and immediately fixed my subtitle rendering issues. Also cleaner UI and better performance.
