User Reviews

User reviews show Ochi as a capable blocker with easy setup and strong automation, including Shortcuts and NFC, plus cross-device use. However, reliability is a major concern: blocking can fail, often limited to Safari or certain browsers, and scheduled blocks may not auto-activate. There are bypasses (back button, reopen) that reduce effectiveness. Price is a frequent complaint, with many feeling the subscription is too costly for the value. UI quirks, glitches, and slow or non-responsive support also appear. Overall, Ochi is helpful for focus, but reliability and pricing hold it back for many users.
Pros
  • Effective blocking of apps and websites across devices
  • Easy to set up and use
  • Strong automation options via Shortcuts, NFC, and Screen Time integration
  • Cross-device consistency and synchronization
  • Free version is fairly capable, with paid features offering extra value
Cons
  • Blocking reliability issues, often Safari-only or browser-specific limitations
  • Scheduled blocks often fail to auto-activate and require manual steps
  • Bypass vulnerabilities (e.g., back button, reopen) undermine effectiveness
  • High price / subscription perceived as expensive or not worth the value
  • UI/stability glitches and inconsistent support (grayed add button, unresponsive app, slow responses)
Recent reviews
This app is easy to control but the websites and apps don’t block even after you set things up. I want to block websites to avoid temptation but this app will not let me block anything and it irks me to buy the subscription, it doesn’t restrict any websites nor apps even after I followed the instructions. Do better
