User Reviews

BRmesh delivers solid core lighting control and is easy to use, but recurring reliability and integration problems undermine the experience. Reviews praise quick connections and basic control, plus Siri/Shortcuts support in newer versions. However, many users report inconsistent voice assistant support (Alexa/Google), buggy scheduling and timers, frequent app reliability issues (crashes, reinstalls), and notable feature gaps in DIY/musical modes. Addressing these gaps could unlock BRmesh's potential as a strong smart-light hub.
Pros
  • Core functionality works: lights connect quickly and respond to basic controls.
  • Easy-to-use app/interface.
  • Siri/Shortcuts integration added (improved iOS support).
  • Works well for basic/simple setups (e.g., a single room or office).
Cons
  • Voice assistant support is inconsistent or missing (Alexa and Google not supported; Siri Shortcuts unreliable in some cases).
  • Scheduling and timer features are buggy or unreliable (schedules don't persist; daylight saving adjustments; timer resets).
  • Reliability and installation issues (app crashes, offloading, can't download, reinstall required).
  • DIY customization and music controls lack: no color wheel for DIY, limited color options, no speed/sensitivity adjustments for music.
  • Limited multi-device sharing and integration with Alexa (only six bulbs can be controlled; limited cross-device control).

Great app! Does the basic things and connects quickly and easily to the lights with lighting responsiveness! I have no idea why this app has gotten so much hate. There are some things that could be added that could make the lights more versatile and truly take the experience to the next level. The lights themselves are physically able to do it, it just needs the right software. Suggestions: It would be amazing if the lights could connect directly to Spotify allowing them to sync more accurately with the beat of the music. While the microphone mode does work, it also picks up background noise, which can throw off the timing and responsiveness. I’d also love to see a few more control features added to enhance the overall experience: • A manual strobe button that lets you trigger a strobe effect on demand, then easily turn it off. This would be perfect for dramatic musical moments, similar to how many DJs use strobes for emphasis. • More strobe color options, including shades like orange, dark green, and other vibrant or moody tones—not just the standard white or primary colors. This would add a lot of flexibility for setting the mood or matching a theme. • Fade in and fade out controls so the lights don’t just turn on or off abruptly, but instead transition smoothly. • Chase or sequential strobe modes that create movement by having the strobe effect travel through the lights in a pattern—around the room or across zones—instead of flashing all at once. This would create a more dynamic and engaging lighting effect. • More fade and flash slots. Only 7 is hard to work with. Technically, you could create a Chase or Carousel effect but there are not enough slots. Adding these features would take the lighting system to the next level and open up tons of creative possibilities!

Can open the app and add the light. All attempts to add Siri Shortcuts fail except for Set to gold. Message windows pop up that they’re set. Message windows flash. Nothing happens. This is the whole reason for buying the lamp - having an app that doesn’t work makes the entire purchase useless. Also, doesn’t work with Google. Really weird that it will (not) work with Alexa and Siri, but not Google. Better quality control maybe? Not impressed.
