The iOS port faithfully captures the Dragon Quest Builders vibe and delivers enjoyable building and exploration with solid touch controls, appealing to fans and newcomers alike. However, the lack of official controller support is the dominant complaint across reviews, and the on-screen controls/UI are poorly suited to large iPad screens, sometimes feeling offset or uncomfortable. Until controller support and better UI scaling are addressed, the mobile version remains a strong but imperfect port.

Faithful Dragon Quest experience and enjoyable building/gameplay that appeals to fans.
Solid iOS port with touch controls that work well, offering a Switch-like experience on mobile.

Cons

No controller support for iOS (MFi/Backbone) is widely requested and limits play on many devices.
On-screen controls sit high/offset on large iPad screens and the UI cannot be resized or adjusted to fit the display, making gameplay uncomfortable.
Touch controls can feel clunky in places, hindering movement/combat and detracting from otherwise solid port.

Recent reviews

Just like many others have said controller option is a must have, but is not supported on this port. Totally makes the game unenjoyable to play especially for anyone with a larger iPad since the on screen controllers are offset and higher up on the screen.
