User Reviews

RealityScan Mobile is praised for ease of use, a free option, and its potential for photogrammetry and 3D capture. However, frequent reliability issues impede use: persistent login loops, loading failures, unreliable reconstructions with possible data loss, and photos flagged as disconnected. A few users appreciate the new controls and workflow improvements. Overall, the concept is solid, but stability and data integrity remain common complaints across multiple reviews.
Pros
  • Very easy to use.
  • Free option / low-cost compared with competitors.
  • Strong potential for photogrammetry and 3D capture with detailed models.
  • New controls are helpful and improve usability.
Cons
  • Login/sign-in loops and cross-platform authentication failures.
  • App sometimes won’t load or shows a black screen / endless spinner.
  • Reconstructions are unreliable or fail, with data loss reported during use.
  • Photos are frequently reported as disconnected or unconnected despite being captured.
  • Data loss after updates (logout and disappearance of local data).

I love the concept but the documentation on Epic’s website is not up to date for the latest iOS release. Additionally I cannot find any threads that talk about an issue I am having on iOS 26.5, iPhone 13 Pro where the 0/300 counter doesn’t increment in any of the modes. I click the white capture button, it shows a shutter animation and I feel a vibration as if it is capturing but the counter remains at 0/300.

You have to be 18 to scan an object, what is this? This is ruining people’s dreams in wanting to do something cool, I wanted to do sm cool but now I have to wait like 4 years. Are we serious
