VizLens is an iOS app that assists visually impaired people to access everyday appliances, such as microwaves, washing machines, and more, that are not labeled with raised dots or Braille.

Key Features:

Virtual Interaction: Capture an image of your appliance's interface, and VizLens will create a virtual layout of the buttons relative to each other. Simply touch a button to hear its corresponding text.
Live Camera Interaction: The innovative feature of VizLens, this view allows you to aim your camera at the appliance interface and use your finger to point at buttons. The app will then audibly speak the text of the buttons you're pointing at.

Cannot take picture even with lights on whether the lights are on or off. It just keeps saying bad quality Imogen can’t know if I’m aiming it. Don’t don’t have much reception and don’t know if I’m aiming it properly. Even the picture do I have a done and take them then I go to interaction and it aim at appliance appliance and nothing else and I can’t go to the other study. Doesn’t do anything needs working on? I don’t know how to use and it needs working on it and I don’t know why it’s never happened. It’s never been fixed. I’ve had it and had it on for a while and it’s never been fixed to come out. I develop developer than it needs it needs fixing. Your picture also is saying homestead well it still says steady, bad quality don’t know what it’s doing. I can’t go to do anything maybe it being a lantern or maybe being in glasses maybe it needs to be wearable in glasses or do I need a lounge to have the phone in or something like that I don’t know it’s just not not doing what it’s supposed to.

OK let’s give this an honest review. Taking a picture is possible with voiceover enabled, you have to have a steady hand but it will work. The app works mostly as advertised with a few caveats. First it only recognizes text and numbers it will not identify icons, second it doesn’t have a feature to enable you to label the icons, so it basically throws out any images it doesn’t recognize. That’s really the largest problem here. If we were able to identify the unknown icons with custom text, this would be a much higher rating than the three stars.
