User Reviews

Tochi provides cute visuals and mood tracking that ties journaling to a story-like timeline, helping users reflect on emotions and stress. The free version is solid and engaging, encouraging daily use. However, recurring concerns include premium gating of core features, persistent ads, and a disliked UI redesign with navigation challenges.
Pros
  • Cute visuals and hedgehog character with a soft, appealing color palette
  • Mood/emotion tracking and journaling integrated into a life-chapter style timeline
  • Helps mental health and acts as a safe space for expressing feelings
  • Free version offers solid core features and is user-friendly
  • Motivates daily use and ongoing self-care
Cons
  • Premium gating of core features (emotional selection/logging) and paying for features others consider essential
  • Ads are intrusive and can appear even for paying users
  • UI redesign is disliked by many and users want the option to revert to the old layout
  • Navigation and organization (stats, colors, and tag editing) can be hard to use

Terrified to update. I don't like the new UI at all. I much prefer the 'Mood' 'reflection' 'stats' 'journals' 'profile' bar at the bottom compared to the tacky hideous bar shown at the top of the screenshots now. Is there a way to toggle on the old UI if I update? I was thinking about becoming a premium membership but I won't if it's like that and hasn't been updated to be a nice medium. I also loved the floppy laying down pink hedgehog 😭 Super skeptical over the new designs. Hell if all my emotions I've made transfer over and I don't loose my account id update and go premium with no complaints if there was a pink hedgehog in cottagecore clothes or something red.

I’ve tried so many mood app trackers and usually just end up not finding them as useful and forgotten. What sets this app apart and why I love it so much is how moods and reflections become a story and how they are organized in life chapters, such a cool concept! It truly feels like my moods become in itself beautiful memories to cherish and look back on. The app is also helpful in understanding what emotions I’m going through which other apps I feel lack. Also it’s oh so very cute! Lifetime subscriber here, thank you again for developing an app I didn’t know I needed!

Tochi Diary is my favorite journaling app. It's features are so helpful. I especially appreciate the mood tracker and the stress tracker, which allows me to track not just what's stressed me out but also how it manifested in my body and small victories I've experienced. HOWEVER, I purchased the premium version of this app to get rid of ads, and suddenly in the last month or so, I started seeing advertisements again after tracking my stress!! I have left feedback on the app twice, and I reached out to Tochi Diary via email for support. I NEVER HEARD BACK, and I am still seeing ads despite paying for this product. In other words, I am not receving what I paid for. It is extremely disappointing, and I would be willing to change my review IF TOCHI DIARY CONTACTS ME AND FIXES THIS GLITCH!
