User Reviews

Dune: Imperium on iOS is a strong board-game adaptation with solid AI, solo play, and immersive production. Reviewers praise its faithful strategy and interface, but caution that long multiplayer turns, expansion availability, and recurring bugs can hinder experience. The tutorial can be uneven, though core gameplay remains engaging and replayable with a large card pool. Overall, a solid pick for Dune fans and deck-builders seeking a polished mobile version, with caveats around expansions and performance.
Pros
  • Faithful and enjoyable adaptation of the Dune board game with solid strategy and atmosphere.
  • Strong AI and enjoyable solo play; great for playing against AI without setup.
  • Well-regarded user interface and generally solid tutorial experience, contributing to accessibility.
  • High production value with licensed material and immersive sound that enhances the Dune universe.
Cons
  • Multiplayer games, especially 4-player, can be very slow due to long turn times and pacing.
  • Expansion/Uprising availability and requirements are a common complaint; players want Uprising or worry about needing expansions to play.
  • UI/Gameplay bugs persist and can disrupt play, including occasional tricky card/intrigue interactions.
  • Tutorial can be insufficient for some players, making the learning curve steeper than expected.

The game hangs during load with two little interlocking circles on a black screen after the Legendary icon. My original review theorized it may be due to lack of support for lockdown mode which I’m using on my phone. But it actually loads on my old 12 mini which is also on lockdown mode. I don’t know why it doesn’t work on my primary device (iphone 16, ios 26.2). I soon will only have my new device so i need it to work here

This is the best board game app I’ve seen so far. However, it would be amazing if we can update for allowing backgrounding of the app. It is frustrating for everything to reload for 30 to 50 seconds even if you minimize the app for a second

The digital app is seamless! So good. But now getting 1 star bc of how many times they’re asking me to review after I’ve reviewed.
