User Reviews

Dominion on iOS is a strong, faithful port with deep replayability, solid online play, and helpful learning aids. However, it struggles with AI fairness in solo play, stability issues and disconnections, and onboarding for expansions. Reviewers repeatedly praise the core game and port quality while highlighting technical and onboarding shortcomings that affect ongoing play.
Pros
  • Faithful, high‑quality Dominion port with solid mechanics and helpful automation that answers gameplay questions.
  • Excellent replayability and depth due to expansions and varied deck-building options.
  • Strong online multiplayer options (public/private play) plus hotseat for pass‑and‑play.
  • Learning-friendly, intuitive interface that helps you pick up Dominion quickly.
Cons
  • AI in solo play can feel biased or unfair, with inconsistent difficulty and occasional cheating‑like behavior.
  • Stability issues: frequent crashes and persistent server disconnects that disrupt games.
  • Expansion onboarding and deck options can be confusing; expansions aren’t explained well and you can’t easily preview decks before joining.
  • Occasional bugs and glitches affecting gameplay (AI behavior, deck handling, etc.).

As the title says, AI is BS! You could buy 5 of the attack cards, you’ll never see them until the last cards in your deck. Guess what the AI, it gets that card the next shuffle after it buys it. Single player game is sucks because of this. Fix the AI and you’ll actually have a game. Statistics/Mathmatics major in college, started tracking the 2 starting hands and attack card purchase vs being able to use. Guess what 68% of the time the AI gets the attack card first, even if you buy it two or three hands earlier. Also the AI statically will obtain the 5-2 hands (first two hands) 71% of the time if an attack is worth 5, otherwise if the attack is worth 4, shockingly all of the sudden, you the player will get the 2-5 hand when the 5 card is useless (that’s 63%, btw). Statistically, this game is broken, the AI has loaded deck, loaded opening hands and just sucks because of it. Play real people using the actual cards, you’ll never see the amazing luck the computer gets, especially the last move that just beats you by 1 point (that’s 59% of the games btw, that you’ll lose by one with one last monster hand the AI gets to win)
