Features & Capabilities

Flight Assessment of Risk Tool helps you analyze whether it is safe for you to go fly. It uses the FAASafety Team’s Flight Risk Assessment Tool (FRAT), presenting you with questions about your flight and your level of experience. After you’ve answered the questions, it will give you a risk score and a description of that score.

Use FART to help you determine if it’s safe for you to go fly, or if you should cancel the flight, or bring along someone more experienced, such as a CFI.

NOTE: This app is not a substitute for your own good judgment and decision-making ability. When in doubt, either cancel your flight or discuss with a trusted mentor first.

Keyboard gets stuck when using it, there is no way to get it to go away. It’s also a bit weird that instead of traditional FRAT (flight risk assessment tool), they decided to organize it into FART. This app is definitely a bit of a fart.

As at least one other as mentioned, when entering any data on the first (left) tab, the app sticks the keypad at the bottom of the screen (in vertical mode) and you can no longer use the app because the tabs on the bottom are blocked by the numeric input. There’s no way to tap around or hit a button to clear the numeric pad. The only way I’ve figured out to get rid of it is to close the app and restart it to get the tabs available again. I’m certain this can be fixed with a small modification. Do that and this would be a 5 star app in my opinion.
