User Reviews

Users largely find LeReader costly and frustrating. While the library can offer good books, access is gated by a coins/credits system with expensive per-chapter costs, and subscriptions rarely guarantee full reading. Billing problems are common (unexpected charges, renewal/refund issues, poor cancellation options). Content quality concerns include incomplete or poorly edited translations and slow updates. Support responsiveness is frequently criticized. A minority still notes decent content, but overall experience is dominated by cost and access frustrations.
Pros
  • Contains great books / strong library of stories.
  • Some reviews note the stories are engaging and of good quality when accessible.
Cons
  • Very expensive to read; high cost per chapter and overall.
  • Chapters are locked behind coins/credits; subscription often does not unlock full content; coins system can be hard to manage and auto-unlock is inconsistent.
  • Billing issues: unauthorized charges, difficulty canceling, refunds denied or unresponsive support.
  • Incomplete/slow updates: many books left unfinished or rarely updated; grammar/translation quality is poor and editors are needed.
  • Customer support and responsiveness cited as weak.

I really liked the story I was reading and spent more money than a book is worth. When their app froze I lost everything even though I thought I was signed in because I linked my email account. However, apparently there was an extra step that I didn’t notice until after the app froze and I lost everything I had purchased. Their customer service was of absolutely no help and I am now disputing the charges with my credit card company. I would’ve gladly finished my book and paid to do so (even though it is ridiculously expensive), but it was clear they are not in the game to be fair and help customers, just drain them dry.

I have checked out at least 20 or 25 of these reading apps. This is absolutely the most expensive on $19.99 a week to read maybe 15 chapters! Definitely not a whole book because the chapter prices are also expensive! And it gives you zero ways to earn coins if you are like most people and can’t afford $80 a month! Priced yourself out of a customer with these rates! I get unlimited reading on Kindle for $10. I’ll stick to that.
