User Reviews

Users report the Royal Enfield North America Tripper app is largely unreliable. The Tripper Pod often fails to save or pair, and connections drop after starting rides. The app pushes constant location permissions (Always On) and keeps the phone screen on, which drains battery and is impractical. Many encounter login/verification problems (6-digit codes not delivered or failing). Navigation routes frequently don’t appear or aren’t generated, making the feature effectively unusable. Support is slow to respond, and regional version discrepancies add to the frustration.
Pros
Cons
  • Cannot save or recognize Tripper Pod after pairing; 'Couldn’t save the device' errors occur repeatedly.
  • Connection reliability: Frequent drops and the app won’t stay connected; often must reconnect after each start.
  • Location permissions and battery drain: App requires Always On location and keeps the screen on, leading to heavy battery usage.
  • Login and verification issues: 6-digit codes are not received or fail to validate, blocking setup and access.
  • Navigation/route problems: The app fails to generate or display navigation routes, making onboard navigation unreliable.

This app needs to keep the location on even when not riding. Unless you want to keep clicking "connect " every time you want it to connect to your phone. Also there is no reason why the screen needs to be on to do navigation on the tripper TFT. Please spend money / time on this app. I love my new Himalayan 450 but wish this app was way better.

I’ve been trying to get this app going, but I can’t get past the initial launch page because they do not send me the 6 digit code needed to continue. It appears this app is no longer supported, which makes on gauge on my Meteor worthless. I can’t even set the time of day.

The app shuts down randomly and needs to be synced several times during a trip, which is frustrating. It requires that location services to “always be on” for the app to work, so it’s constantly collecting data This app also requires your phone to be unlocked while using it, which drains your phone battery very quickly, which means you have to keep your phone plugged into the USB-C port. To do that, you probably need to mount your phone to the handle bars, which means you can just use your phone for navigation. It works significantly better than the RE App.
