2026-04-04	Zh*****	I bought this water heater thinking it would be a solid investment, but the app that accompanies it is a huge letdown. While the physical water heater itself works well, the app feels like an afterthought. Here are the issues I’ve encountered: Constant Logouts: The app keeps logging me out, and every time I try to log back in, it’s a hassle. Password Reset Failures: When trying to reset my password, I’m just met with an error message saying, “Attempt to retrieve password failed.” It’s been an ongoing issue with no fix in sight. Poor Customer Support: When I reached out for help, I never got a response. The lack of customer service makes it difficult to resolve these issues. Failure Notifications Are Useless: The app doesn’t notify you of error codes. When something goes wrong, you have to call the installer yourself, which is incredibly frustrating and inconvenient. It seems like Essency is more focused on marketing and pushing out new products rather than investing in improving the software that supports them. It’s disappointing, as the product could be great if they just put more effort into quality control and app development. I hope they address these issues soon, but for now, I can’t recommend the app or the product if you rely on it for functionality.

2025-08-29	Fo*****	I don’t understand these other reviews. The water heater and app work as expected and the app provides additional convenience & functionality. I am about to catch a flight home and I just took my water heater off of vacation mode while at the airport. I also turned vacation mode on on my way out of town. Again, I don’t understand these other negative reviews claiming to be tech savvy yet unable to understand the default 5 Minutes is for Cutting off hot water Use for 5 minutes in the event you have someone over using the water and you wanted to cut off the hot water on demand and you HAVE TO PUSH A BOTTOM TO ACTIVATE THAT FEATURE.. so.. maybe read the provided literature if needed. I personally have been loving having fresh hot Water that has not been sitting in a tank collecting scale and who knows what else as well as being able to remotely put my water heater in and out of Vacation mode to conserve energy. Time will tell as to longevity but I have not once ran out of hot water.

2025-02-22	Lo*****	My father in law was conned into buying one of these things cause the plumber told him that “he would never run out of water” Any time my family is visiting him the water runs out if you even think about taking a shower. So being somewhat savvy with computers I tried to check out the touch screen. Might as well be looking at hieroglyphs. So I went on YouTube to find out how it works. NOT one demonstration video about this thing. Then the website… NOTHING. Everything I read was self idolizing. Smart, modern, intelligent, built overseas, the future, beautiful… blah blah blah. Tell me how to make the tankless water heater provide ENDLESS hot water. Finally I read the manual online. This thing limits the OWNER and starts lowering the temperature automatically after some time. And only AFTER the water is turned off for 5 minutes can one once more enjoy hot water. On the app the lowest time one can set is 1 min. On the water heater you can turn the feature OFF… but beware you loose WiFi signal it will go back to the 5 minute default. Excuse me. The default should be infinite hot water. UNLESS the user wanted to save electricity. What is the point of a Tankless Water Heater if it behaves just like a Tanked water heater? Save yourself money. Return this thing, get a refund and go to Your Hardware store and buy yourself a 200 gallon water heater. It will cost you 1/10th of the cost of this fancy piece of plastic.

2023-11-07	Fo*****	I haven’t had any notifications of alarm codes or updates available since I started using this app April 2023. I have to manually check the app every week. The only notification I have had was update completed after I manually had to check for that update yesterday. Please fix this and thank you!
