Pros
- All-in-one hub combining calendar, tasks, notes, and contacts in one place.
- Clean, visually simple design that reduces distractions and is easy to navigate.
- Strong Google Calendar integration and cross-device capability (especially desktop) with drag-and-drop task-to-calendar.
- Good widgets and a powerful dashboard/quick add (keyboard shortcut) for fast capture.
- Flexible usage across devices; great for time-blocking and ADHD-friendly workflow.
Cons
- Requires Google login / not a standalone app; privacy concerns.
- Performance and reliability issues: slow load times, crashes, offline dependence, bugs.
- Syncing/data consistency problems: notes/tasks/calendar not syncing consistently; data can disappear; one-way or missing sync.
- Missing features/limitations: no recurring tasks, can't set repeating tasks; limited calendar support (one Google calendar); no iCloud/local calendar; no iPad version.
- Data loss risk and cloud dependency making it unusable offline.

I long had looked for a good FranklinCovey digital version. While this isn’t a perfect one to one fit, it is quite good. They bring calendar, notes, contacts, and tasks together in one place and more. As they get closer to a 1.0 release, the product continues to improve and is worth a look.

Can’t even access the app or preview any of the features without having a Google account. It’s really an extension for your Google account not a standalone app.

Google ecosystem user for multiple work and family accounts, and have been looking for a SIMPLE app that can integrate my schedules and tasks I add from emails in one place, and plug them in calendar view with other schedules.
Tried many productivity tools and apps and ends up being not simple and often are bloated or visually overwhelming.
Routine is visually SIMPLE with clean LAYOUT. It helps a lot with less switching between apps, then lessens distractions and context switching, which overwhelms my ADHD brain. So happy I found this tool!!
At the moment the free version is doing what I need with Zapier integration.
One downside is tasks updated or completed in Routine doesn’t reflect in Google Task (and other way around), so have to manually delete once completed. Not a big deal for now.
Any chance of developing the integration to be automatic instead of the user having to set it up?
Thank you so much for designing and developing Routine!
