I honestly wouldn’t know what to do at the gym if it weren’t for this app! And imagine if I had to write everything down in the Notes app on my phone? 🫠😂 My friend introduced me to OwnU, and it’s genuinely one of the main reasons I’m able to exercise consistently without feeling overwhelmed trying to figure out how many reps to do, what weights I used last time, or how to track my progress. It takes so much of the mental work out of working out and lets me just focus on actually exercising and getting stronger. Thank you, OwnU! 🥹🙏🏼🩷 This app seriously feels like a little lifeline for me at the gym.

User Reviews
Users praise OWNU for effective tracking, helpful instructional videos, and customization, along with a clean, appealing design. However, many reviews cite data loss after updates, widespread bugs and broken features, UX regressions that increase effort, and issues with login and guide content, all of which undermine the experience.
Pros
- Strong tracking of weights, reps, and progression to guide increases
- Helpful workout videos that demonstrate how to use gym equipment
- Ability to switch to alternative exercises based on available equipment
- Attractive workouts and a polished app design/UX that users like when it works
Cons
- Major loss of progress/data after updates (history, notes, plans)
- Frequent bugs and incomplete features after updates (missing warmups, blank workouts, broken plans)
- Significant UX regressions and increased friction post-update (more clicks, harder to navigate, plan changes)
- Sign-in/account issues and cross-device progress problems (login errors, password resets, progress not syncing)
- Changes to guides/plans and reduced variety (older specialized guides removed, plans feel less varied)
Recent reviews
I love this app and loved the different options specifically for good dumbbell only workouts. But they changed so much. I had to figure out how to navigate it after it changed, which is fine. But it’s not as user friendly anymore. If you want to skip the warmups because you do different ones it’s practically impossible to do unless you sit there and hit skip 15 times. It’s just not ideal anymore which is sad because I loved it!! The old lay out made more sense but that may just be me.
