User Reviews

Users largely praise GRImageViewer for fast photo transfer and reliable remote capture, with a clean, straightforward UI and performance that often beats the official Ricoh app. Many reviews also report strong syncing and easy camera-to-phone transfers. However, recurring drawbacks include camera connection/pairing problems (Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi), and a token/ad model that requires watching ads for tokens or repeatedly runs out, sometimes failing to fetch ads. Some users also experience unresponsive multi-select, and a few paid users encounter issues after purchasing. Overall, it's a solid alternative but its ad/token system and connectivity issues limit reliability.
Pros
  • Faster photo transfer from the camera than the official Ricoh app.
  • Remote control/remote capture works smoothly.
  • Clean, user-friendly UI that is easy to use.
  • Reliable syncing and overall performance, often better than the Ricoh app.
  • Paying to remove ads is acceptable and improves the experience for many users.
Cons
  • Camera connection/pairing issues (Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi) that prevent use.
  • Token/ad model causes friction: you must watch ads for tokens, tokens can run out, and ads may fail to fetch.
  • UI can be unresponsive at times, especially when selecting multiple photos.
  • Some paid users report issues after purchasing and seek refunds.
  • Occasional bugs and stability problems.
Recent reviews
Works great to transfer photos. There are a few small little bugs that pop up from time to time, but they are not terrible. What is not great recently is the inability to use remote capture mode. With no updates in a year to the app, I’m not sure it will be fixed anytime soon.
