The Slate App

THE SLATE APP is a platform that enhances the class experience for effective teaching while making learning itself fun. It also doubles as a digital communication diary.

It is a solution designed with unique features that maximizes the effectiveness of learning and communication between schools and parents, with children in the school. It helps in enhancing and simplifying effective virtual learning and class administration for the students and teacher.

It enhances: parent-teacher communication, school-parents communication, calendar and schedule management of schools events and the communication of scheduled event; attendance management for school and classes, and generally aid and facilitate the school

Some Unique Features Include:

Live Class: This feature helps take the class experience beyond the four walls of the class room and school. Through the Live Class feature the Teacher can impact knowledge to the student through the means of video messaging/streaming/communication which the child(ren) can access and participate with from anywhere he/she may be once he has access to the class through THE SLATE APP.

These classes can also be accessed for revision purposes or incase the child(ren) miss the scheduled class. Parents can also have access to the class to peak or monitor what activity their child(ren) is participating in.

Attendance (Check-in/Check-out): The attendance feature easily tracks the attendance of each child per class and automatically analyzes attendance record per child and per class. The feature has a unique functionality where by each parent gets a notification when their child is checked in to class.

As a security feature, a unique checkout code (UCOC) is generated which is what will be required to pick up the child or check the child out from class as at pick up. A notification is also sent to parents phone to inform parent of child being checked out of class and ultimately from school.

Calendar/Schedule: School events can be populated on the Calendar feature. This can be done per child per class. Notifications for reminders on basis of importance can be set to go out as at scheduled to parents

This feature can be synched with the calendar app on parent’s phone updating their schedule on their phone calendar.

Stories: Stories feature is used by Class teachers to capture pictures and videos of class events and activities. Parents can check on the stories to have a real time view of activity their child is participating in, in class.
