User Reviews

Reviewers largely praise Capture One for iPad as a useful, improving companion to the desktop app and a cheaper entry point versus Lightroom. However, frequent concerns center on the subscription pricing, missing essential mobile editing features, a clunky export/transfer flow, stability issues after updates, and limited cloud/sync options between devices. Overall, it’s valued for tethering and on-site review, but many users want a more complete feature set and smoother cross-device syncing.
Pros
  • Rock-solid iPad tethering for on-site shooting and quick on-device review
  • A cost-effective entry point and viable alternative to Lightroom Mobile
  • Steadily improving across platforms with the developers' ongoing updates
  • Useful as a standalone mobile editing/review tool that complements a desktop workflow
  • Part of the Capture One ecosystem, offering a non-Adobe workflow
Cons
  • Subscription-only pricing with no perpetual license (considered expensive by many users)
  • Missing essential mobile editing tools (e.g., color grading wheels, heal/clone, skin tone tools, luminance/refine masking) and features like watermarking
  • Cumbersome export/transfer workflow and slower exports that hinder moving edits to a desktop
  • Stability and update issues (bugs, crashes, broken purchase screens) and occasional login problems
  • Limited cloud or desktop-to-mobile sync; no seamless image library sync

$5 was acceptable as a somewhat reliable companion to c1pro. $11 is just not going to work… I can’t believe this isn’t a giveaway with a c1pro license. I’ve been a loyal c1pro user since ver 3. Too bad. Tethering competitors are coming up and doing a much better job promoting in social media and I need to take good look at them since resolve is poised to eat c1pro for hybrid shooters. Honestly after all these years my conclusion is that c1pro is best in ecomm studios, forget this app. If they offered a $69 one time price, I’d consider that.
