User Reviews

Users praise the app for its simple, distraction-free notes and strong Apple Pencil, plus usable export/sharing and a no-frills approach. However, many reviews cite serious reliability and data-saving issues (lag, crashes, strokes not appearing, pages going blank), inconsistent Pencil input, a clunky UI, and limited high-quality export options (no PDF). The concept is solid, but stability and feature gaps are the dominant concerns.
Pros
  • Very simple, distraction-free interface for capturing ideas and notes, with an effective way to manage idea status.
  • Excellent Apple Pencil support and a digital-paper feel that many users value.
• Export and sharing options exist and are usable (e.g., sharing notes via email) with a gallery-like organization.
  • No feature bloat; a straightforward, minimal experience focused on handwriting with Apple Pencil.
Cons
  • Significant reliability issues: lag, unresponsiveness, and strokes not appearing until the UI is toggled.
  • Saving and data persistence problems: notes/pages can fail to save, disappear, or open blank.
  • Inconsistent Pencil performance and input reliability; Apple Pencil can be spotty or delayed.
  • Clunky UI/workflow and reliance on Apple's tool panel; overall feels outdated and not smooth.
  • Export quality limitations: only low-resolution PNGs by default and no PDF/high-res export.

I have tried writing with my finger and my apple pen nothing works, I have paid for unlimited use of this app. How do I write on it?

turns out this is and has all that i need, while simultaneously offering me things i didn’t know i needed, thing’s i’ve been missing. i just need a super simple place for ideas, and an effective interface for managing status of those ideas. this does both very well. i also think the export options are… good enough! This is like freeform lite, but a better gallery and less complex
