I just finished a 80k novel as a young author, and before I start editing my manuscript, I wanted to world build like my life depended on it. Problem was, I needed something to organize my brains thoughts, and I came across Fortelling. I am astounded by all of the free features, such as pinboards, infinite charecter profiles, locations, and so much more. It has detailed questions to answer and it has really helped me flesh out my charecters! I’ve only had it about 4 days and have already seen the benefits. I’m able to keep track of where a charecter lives, why they have so much trauma (every writer knows their fav charecter gets to have the most trauma), their birthdate, and their relationship with other charecters! There are so many things that I probably haven’t even discovered yet. I also thought it would be uncomfortable on a phone, but the design is so well thought out and is really really easy to use on my phone. It’s also FREE! Seriously, why are so many writing apps not free?!?! As a writer who has a bit of trouble keeping track of exactly what age a charecter is (Seriously, I once labeled the same charecter as both 21, 22, 24, 25, and 26…it’s a problem) But with a few taps, I’m able to see exactly what detail needs to be edited! the information and way it’s set up is so easy to navigate, and i have to wrap this review up soon, so, all you really need to know? If you do any type of writing, film making, any sort of thing that has charecters, GET THIS APP!!!
