User Reviews

MyWhoosh is a free Zwift-like indoor cycling app praised for its visuals and flexible workouts, with easy setup. However, it struggles with connectivity issues, frequent updates, performance bugs, and content limitations (few routes, no MTB/Gravel, no Garmin sync). Overall it's a valuable no-cost option but needs polish and expanded capabilities.
Pros
  • Free to use (for now) with a Zwift-like experience.
  • Graphics and route visuals are appealing.
  • Workout flexibility: you can mix any workout with any route and get real-time cues.
  • Easy to set up and use.
  • Seen as a strong Zwift alternative without a subscription.
Cons
  • Frequent connectivity issues with trainers/sensors (ANT+, cadence, ERG mode) and devices.
  • Too many app updates and install times causing delays or instability.
  • Performance bugs: lag, freezes, crashes on multiple devices/platforms.
  • Content limitations: limited routes, no MTB/Gravel, some routes time-locked, no Garmin sync.
  • UI/UX polish and onboarding could be improved (sign-up friction, cluttered visuals, navigation).

Even after the most recent update today, 1Password still will not work and you have to type the password in manually. The screen goes blank. How bad can the developers be not to get this fixed in two different updates?

Overall, MyWhoosh is a very good app, especially considering that it’s free. The workouts and riding experience are enjoyable, and everything generally works well. However, I have two major issues: * Cadence is not displayed correctly when using a Magene cadence sensor or a ThinkRider X2 Max trainer as cadence sensor. The readings are often inaccurate or inconsistent. * Workout history is very limited. It’s basically impossible to open a completed workout and properly analyze the data afterward. I would really like to see detailed graphs for power, heart rate, cadence, and other ride metrics. Fixing these two issues would make MyWhoosh much better for regular training.
