Dicey Elementalist is a Yahtzee-inspired rogue-lite RPG for Chrome. Five dice are rolled three times; keep the best score, then explore deck-building, rogue-like randomness, unique heroes, and evolving mechanics as you become the Dice Master.

User Reviews

Dicey Elementalist offers addictive, replayable dice-deck roguelike gameplay with a strong core concept. But reviews frequently flag heavy ads and monetization, RNG-driven difficulty, paywalls for new content, progress bugs, and concerns about updates. The game shines for free-to-play players who enjoy deep strategy, yet stability and monetization issues may deter long-term players.
Pros
  • Addictive, highly replayable roguelike with long-term playability.
  • Unique dice-based combat with deck-building depth.
  • Engaging core concept that works well on mobile and offers meaningful free-to-play play.
  • Easy to understand but challenging, with lots of content and variety.
  • Flexible mobile play with the ability to step away and resume progress.
Cons
  • Ad-heavy monetization with forced or lengthy ads and a high cost to remove them.
  • RNG-driven balance that can make later stages feel unfair or sloggy.
  • Paid unlocks and limited free content leading to paywalls for new characters and features.
  • Progress bugs and reward inconsistencies (progress loss, restore purchases failing, etc.).
  • Perceived lack of ongoing updates or unfinished state leading to reduced support.

Love the Slay the Spire-esque dungeon crawling, deck-building gameplay and the art style! The incremental “shopkeeper” unlocks at home base are a nice, unique touch. The fact that you have to pay real money for every character except the starter and that there are unskippable ads dropped this game a full 2 stars for me, unfortunately. As far as I could see, the only option to remove the ads was a $20 IAP, that did include other perks, but still seems a bit steep. Would gladly pay a largely reduced, one-time fee to play this game ad-free. Close to perfect if not for those few things, but I simply couldn’t look past them.

I love this game and am now coming back to it after some time, there’s only ads for rewards and there’s so much substance and so many things to do. Great game.
