Remaster offers gorgeous graphics and a superb soundtrack along with QoL boosts (auto-battle, speed-up, maps, auto-walk) and balanced progression that make FF II more approachable. However, it suffers from lack of controller support, status-effect RNG that always hits, a high encounter rate, and the missing Soul of Rebirth postgame content, which many fans cite as significant drawbacks.

Pros

Balanced progression and easier stat growth for newer generations.

Recent reviews

Couldn’t get white wizard Minwu to join party and thus couldn’t move forward in game. This happens early on and it seems to be a problem that a lot players have. Waste of money.

An issue across all of these remasters. The choppy scrolling hurts my eyes and renders these version unplayable for me. It’s unfortunate, as these have the potential to be the best versions of these games
