User Reviews

Users overall praise the app for its simple setup and meaningful sound customization on the few supported headphones, but the usefulness on iOS is hampered by limited hardware compatibility, frequent connection problems, and the fact that EQ works only inside the app rather than across the system or streaming services.
Pros
  • Simple and fast to use
  • Effective EQ customization that can improve sound on supported headphones (e.g., reduces bass boost, clears up the sound)
  • Personalized sound profiles are saved and can be reused with compatible devices (e.g., Drop THX Pandas)
Cons
  • Limited to four headphone models on iOS; many common devices like AirPods Pro are not supported
  • Frequent connectivity issues and crashes; often unable to connect
  • EQ works only within the SoundID app and does not affect external apps or system-wide playback
  • Cross-device/profile syncing issues between iOS and Windows causing profiles to not transfer

The application crashes with the latest version of iOS when uploading to my monoprice monolith earbuds

I researched for an app that could give personalization to the audio for my AirPods Pro, and I found SoundID. It seemed very promising, but when I opened the app, it wouldn’t let me proceed until I had picked one of FOUR earbuds that I had never heard of. This app does not work for standard earbuds like AirPods, beats, JBL, or anything. Before you download, make sure your earbuds are compatible.
