Total War: MEDIEVAL II brings the series’ signature blend of massive real-time battles and intricate turn-based strategy to iPhone and iPad. Command up to 17 factions across three continents as kingdoms vie for power through warfare, diplomacy, and trade.

The Kingdoms expansion adds four campaigns and 24 new factions with battlefields spanning the Americas, the Holy Land, the British Isles, and beyond. A major update introduces balance improvements and asynchronous multiplayer on a single device, paired with a refreshed touch interface for precise control across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

User Reviews

Overall, Total War: MEDIEVAL II on iOS is a strong, faithful PC-to-mobile port with satisfying touch controls and deep strategy, cherished by longtime fans. However, stability is a recurring issue, with crashes and launch problems reported across updates. Monetization concerns, such as DLC unlocks, annoy some players. AI diplomacy can be inconsistent, and many players miss multiplayer options. There are also control quirks and limited controller support. Despite these drawbacks, the game offers substantial content and a robust Total War experience on mobile.
Pros
  • Faithful PC-to-mobile port that preserves content and core Total War gameplay.
  • Mobile touch controls and simplified UI deliver solid strategy gameplay on the go.
  • Deep, long-lasting strategy with hundreds to thousands of hours of gameplay.
  • Strong performance across devices and generations, showing broad compatibility.
  • Beloved by longtime Total War fans for delivering the classic experience.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and launch problems, including startup crashes and freezes after updates.
  • Paywalls and paid DLC unlocking; some content requires additional purchases.
  • AI diplomacy issues and illogical behavior, especially on higher difficulties.
  • No multiplayer support; many players want online multiplayer or a multiplayer campaign.
  • Control and input issues, such as archers auto-charging and limited controller support.

This is a cool game and if you want to have big battles and cool strategy, then this is the game for you. Yes it does take a chunk of your bank account but it’s worth it. The reason for 4 stars is, well, the price. Also I don’t know if the developer would do this but, I think it would be cool if you could be one of the soldiers. This is my honest review on this game
