Features & Capabilities

HouseCurve is a multi-tool for audio systems that overlays measurements on a target curve to guide tuning. It supports sine sweeps, real-time pink-noise measurements, and moving-mic measurements (MMM) to capture in-room response. Measurements can be averaged for more accurate results.

Create and edit target curves, generate room-correction filters (PEQ or FIR), and apply filters on a variety of DSP platforms like Roon, Volumio, CamillaDSP, EqualizerAPO, miniDSP, and Crestron DM NAX. It works with built-in or external microphones and connects via AirPlay, Bluetooth, or analog outputs. The free version shows a magnitude plot, while advanced tools and target-curve editing are available via in-app purchases.

User Reviews

HouseCurve is praised for ease of use, tangible sound improvements, and strong PEQ/export compatibility, plus affordable value and useful tutorials. Recurring downsides include connectivity problems (iPhone/AirPlay), upgrade nagging, limited DSP precision (exact frequencies and Q), and occasional misuse risks that could damage gear.
Pros
  • Very easy to use with a straightforward workflow for mic setup, sweeps, and generating curves.
  • Produces audible sound improvements and helps fix room issues (bass dips and reflections).
  • Exports curves to PEQ formats and works smoothly with third‑party tools like Equalizer APO, Peace, and UMIK‑1.
  • Works with a smartphone mic, avoiding the need for an expensive measurement mic, while offering mic compensation.
  • Great value for money with affordable pricing and useful features.
Cons
  • Connectivity can be unreliable, with reports of not connecting to iPhone, AirPlay systems, or breaking after upgrades.
  • Upsell prompts and repeated upgrade requests detract from the experience.
  • Limited DSP precision, such as inability to input exact frequencies or see Q values, making it hard to match some head-unit DSPs.
  • There is a risk of damage if levels are set too high or misused, as noted by users who experienced speaker damage.
  • Occasional setup friction or compatibility issues with certain devices or ecosystems (e.g., AirPlay).

I’m really impressed by this app, it just makes everything so easy, just like it should be. Setting up a mic? Easy. Running a sweep? Easy. Generating a response curve? Easy. Copying that curve into miniDSP PEQ settings? Easy. Getting stoked on how your system sounds after setting up your new PEQ? EASY.

This is a great, easy to use tool. Just invest an hour reding the directions and you’ll be good to go. It made my expensive stereo sound like I thought it should and could sound. Sound went from good to amazing. It also helped me fix a large bass dip 14 db at 125 hz. Moved my speakers closer to front wall to get it to 8 db and was able to correct it to 1.5db dip. Nice

A microphone is more than good enough for simple, manual EQ, but most apps don’t use it or don’t compensate, this app does both and for a decent (at least when I purchased it). While not exactly necessary, I do wish that they added true support for headphones.
