User Reviews

Overall, NWN on iOS is praised as a faithful PC-like port with lots of content and mods, good value, and solid portability. However, recurring issues hold it back: missing controller support, small/poorly scaled UI, unreliable multiplayer, stability problems, and problematic touch/mouse controls on iPad. Users want parity with the PC version and ongoing updates.
Pros
  • Faithful PC-style Neverwinter Nights port on iOS with the same core game and module content.
  • Long, replayable gameplay on the go with mods and premium modules that extend content.
  • Runs on iPhone with relatively good battery efficiency and resumes between sessions without resets.
  • Good value for the mobile NWN experience
Cons
  • Lack of controller support; players want gamepad/backbone/controller compatibility.
  • UI scaling/readability issues on iPhone (text too small and scaling changes reduce legibility).
  • Multiplayer connectivity problems (inability to play with friends; CD-key validation issues on iOS 16).
  • Stability/Performance issues (crashes, freezes, overheating; low FPS on some devices).
  • Touch/mouse input problems on iPad (mouse input not working; touch controls frustrating; DM mode may be non-functional).

This is an awesome game but I wish it had controller support

I have owned this since it came out. It waited to do the review until I really spent some time with the game. I bought NWN for pc back when it came out and the expansions. This is a great port. Some things I like: when you put up your phone to do things or goto the Home Screen the game stays up without draining the battery. The game does not reset or have issues resuming. Another thing: the game play uses up very little battery life running in performance mode on my IPhone 16 pro max. Out of all the games I have and I have the best AAA games this one runs great. The character I have right now is a Rogue/fighter/Blackguard I’m progressing through the first campaign. Then doing the expansions I never beat. Let me also add to this review: you can do all the PC CONSOLE command codes by doing ## before a command. The first command is ##DebugMode 1 After that all the commands work with ##(command) (2nd part of command data). You input these using the chat button, which is to the right above the action bar. If your game touch screen mouse becomes bugged at a point after using some commands and appears like the icon of an item you summoned just save and reload and it will be fixed but you will have to enable debug mode again.
