User Reviews

ManaBox MTG is praised for its polished UI, rich deck-building tools, robust card management, and strong scanning features. However, reviews frequently cite scanning inaccuracies, especially with dark or full-art cards, and a need for manual entry in some cases. The lack of a desktop/web version and concerns about subscription costs temper the enthusiasm. Overall, it’s a powerful MTG organizer for mobile use if you can tolerate scan quirks and paid features.
Pros
  • Excellent card scanning capability for bulk cataloging (fast and convenient).
  • Robust deck-building and card management, including powerful search, organization, and deck analytics.
  • Seamless import/export of deck lists and compatibility with external sites (e.g., Moxfield).
  • Intuitive, polished UI that makes it easy to navigate and build decks.
Cons
  • Inconsistent scanning accuracy; cards are often misidentified.
  • Troubles scanning darker cards or those with glare; lighting/background can significantly affect results.
  • Manual data entry remains tedious and changing card versions can be cumbersome.
  • No desktop/web interface; lacks cross-platform desktop input.
  • Subscription pricing and paid features have drawn complaints.

The app doesn’t tell you, but it is recommended that you at least sort all of your cards by set first. Otherwise you have to manually enter the set that the card being scanned is from. A lot of times it will assign the wrong set to the scan card so you don’t get an accurate valuation then you have to go back and manually put in the correct set. So unless you already have your collection sorted by sets or you don’t care about what it assigned your cards then this scanner is average at best.

Terrible app, scanning cards is nigh impossible. Takes multiple tries, literally googling and making an excel of my cards would be faster than this application at times.

I said decent. I’ve seen what Samsung has for tcg and ManaBox is the closest thing
