Camera Connect & Control Apple

Camera Connect & Control

Connect a wifi camera or DSLR

Features & Capabilities

Camera Connect & Control lets you pair your wifi-enabled camera or DSLR with your phone over Wi‑Fi or USB. It provides a live view, remote capture, a grid view of all photos, quick loading of JPG and RAW, and easy sharing to apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. You can download complete files to the Files app, connect via your phone’s hotspot when no wifi is available, and even see protected files, bulb capture, and focus bracketing.

The Lite and Pro versions unlock Exif data (including GPS), bulk download/delete/share, and enhanced camera control, such as adjusting shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and white balance via Live View. The app supports Canon, Nikon, and Sony cameras (with setup for Smart Remote Control where required).

User Reviews

Camera Connect & Control is praised for USB-C live view and reliable camera control, easy transfer to the Files app, and strong value, often noting it beats Canon’s official app. However, many reviews cite connection drops, compatibility gaps across cameras, and subscription/billing bugs. Transfer issues (slow or missing files), live-view problems or IPTC data loss, and limited camera support are also common. The app is valued for professional workflows, but reliability concerns persist.
Pros
  • USB‑C live view and reliable camera control for monitoring and shooting
  • Easy media transfers to the Files app / iPhone with support for large files (e.g., 8K) without a separate card reader
  • Simple to use with strong value; subscription worth it
  • Strong alternative to official apps; works where others fail
  • Helpful for professional workflows, including automated shooting (continuous timer)
Cons
  • Connection instability: frequent Wi‑Fi drops and cameras not found across multiple brands
  • Subscription and billing issues: pro mode not unlocking, trial/payments failing
  • Transfer and file management problems: slow transfers, files disappear or get buried, saving to network locations unreliable
  • Live view sometimes greyed out and IPTC data loss; difficulty viewing or managing images
  • Limited camera compatibility and model-specific connection issues

No other app does it like this. This app is better than any proprietary or “official” app for monitoring and shooting. I love connecting to it for the continual timer. I’ll have it take a picture ever 5 seconds for 30 seconds while my camera is on the tripod of me and my wife when I have no other photographer. This is how I captured our engagement photos. Get this app you will not regret it. Live view over USB and wireless (if supported).
