Users like SofaBaton for consolidating remotes, learning codes, quick setup once you grasp Activities, and advanced customization (IP-based automations) with broad device support. However, frequent bugs, unstable hub connectivity, a steep learning curve, missing essential features (dark mode, iPad app, widget, export/import), and inconsistent documentation heavily detract from the experience.

Pros

Consolidates multiple remotes into one (five remotes to one).
Learning feature works well for adding codes from legacy remotes.
Well designed setup and quick configuration once you understand 'Activities'.
Advanced customization options, including IP-based automations with Home Assistant/Node-RED.
Broad device support and reliable control across devices, and works well with the U2 remote.

Cons

Bugs and reliability issues; frequent crashes and setup obstacles.
App cannot stay connected to the hub; connectivity problems disrupt workflows.
Very difficult to set up and not beginner-friendly; steep learning curve.
Missing essential features and poor UI: no dark mode, no iPad-native app, no widget, no export/import, and limited ability to edit/delete commands easily.
Documentation and device support can be inconsistent; some devices not listed or lacking reliable guidance.

App works great and the setup is pretty straight forward. No idea why their avg rating is so low, but maybe previous versions didn’t work as well? No idea but the current version (as of July 2026) is 5 stars.

I followed the instructions that were provided in the instructions manual. The remote would not connect to the hub. Instead was placed into an infinite loop of installing the firmware. I had to remove the remote in the app, restart the application, for the remote to be recognized. The English translation is also lacking to say the least. For example, the common practice for users to acknowledge a successful installation is to click a button that says OK. Instead, the button says sure. Are you asking am I “sure” this installed successfully. Not a good first impression. The remote now works at least.
