User Reviews

Users like the app for gesture page-turning and annotation features, plus updates that fix bugs. However, stability problems (crashes, freezes, data loss), paywall-driven feature access, and weak support detract from the experience. Navigation can be non-intuitive, and server/import issues plus platform limitations further affect reliability. Overall sentiment is mixed: some praise usability and value, while others highlight recurring flaws and cost concerns.
Pros
  • Gesture-based page turning (wink/face gestures) is a standout feature mentioned by multiple reviewers.
  • Annotation and score-marking capabilities for scores (with audio placement) exist, offering powerful editing tools.
  • Regular updates have improved stability and fixed freezes, according to users.
  • Some reviewers find the app intuitive and user-friendly, especially compared to alternatives.
  • Users note perceived value for money and consider it a solid option relative to competitors.
Cons
  • Frequent stability issues: crashes, freezing, and even data loss (scores disappearing) are commonly reported.
  • Core features are gated behind paid plans (annotations and certain gestures) with pricing tiers that cause confusion and frustration.
  • Support and communication problems: slow responses, bounced emails, and unclear or missing contact options.
  • Navigation/UI can be non-intuitive or clunky in practice, making certain tasks feel cumbersome.
  • Server/downloading/import issues and platform limitations (e.g., no Android, Mac-specific problems) affect reliability and cross-device use.

The updates have been making glitchiness of this app better, which I appreciate. However, please stop implementing AI features. I don’t need an AI summary of the pieces in my playlists, and I especially don’t need random words and letters highlighted on my pages! At the very least please make it optional in settings. It’s distracting on the page and confusing. Not to mention, offensive to use AI on an app targeted towards generally anti-AI artists (musicians).

I think there’s a good reason I haven’t heard of this app. I’ve been using it for over a month, and there were things I liked about it, but it’s mostly super buggy and almost everything is locked behind a paywall. You can’t even do annotations without paying, which is literally the most basic feature of a sheet music app. The Pro version can be bought as a $35 one-time purchase but that doesn’t even include all the features that the Premium subscription does. Just buy ForScore for $25 and you’ll get a way better experience.
