User Reviews

Ego Sword: Idle Sword Clicker is praised for its visuals, addictive idle progression, and engaging story. However, players repeatedly cite an grind-heavy endgame, pay-to-win monetization concerns, slow or uneven updates, and occasional stability issues that hinder long-term play. Overall, it’s visually appealing and engaging at first but struggles with progression balance, monetization, and ongoing content.
Pros
  • Visually stunning with strong art, weapon/armor design and sound that many reviews praise.
  • Addictive idle progression and a satisfying leveling flow that keeps players engaged.
  • Engaging story/dialogue content that adds depth to the idle experience.
Cons
  • Pronounced endgame grind: upgrades are expensive, a soft cap around level 6500–7000, and rebirth provides little base damage, leading to long idle durations.
  • Pay-to-win concerns: nerfed damage buffs in a rework, reliance on VIP or real-money buffs to reach high power, and a general monetization frustration.
  • Content and update pace issues: desire for more content, slower updates on iOS compared to Android, and stalled long-term progression.
  • Stability and account issues: bugs and events like bans or progress loss (souls freezing, lost saves) that affect play experience.

I had this game years ago on my old phone and was searching for it for ages. I finally found it last week and am a little disappointed in what it is now. You get soft capped like in Destiny around lvl 6500-7000 because the upgrades are too expensive now and barely do anything so you really just sit around for the daily stuff. There’s almost no point in rebirthing because there’s no base damage increase, only ability or crit increases (for damage upgrades) Which on each rebirth, don’t really do much. You’ll maybe get another 30 levels before you have to rebirth again. Then wait hours or quit and log back in later to warp. The only way you could ever reach even 20,000 would be if you buy stuff from them. They nerfed all the damage buffs calling it a “rework” or something so it’s almost impossible unless you get their vip or buy other buffs with real money. Aesthetically this game is great. The visuals, sound design, the art, armor and weapon design; its all great. The “story” is good for an idle game honestly and it gives a lot of dialogue which is great. Just what’s the point of playing and trying to reach where these guys are in top 3 if you have to spend 200+ hours just to get to level 10,000. Also, the free summons on gear are almost pointless because who still needs the lowest gear tier after even stage 1000. Merging that gear doesn’t turn it into a higher tier so it’s mainly just the equip ego you try to get but it’s hard to come by anything worth while. It’s turned into a pay to win and it’s very unfortunate. This used to be one of my favorite games but it is what it is I guess. All game companies gotta make money some how🤷‍♀️ Again though, aesthetically this game is great looking, and fun initially
