PetScanner combines registration and scanning in one system for pet keepers, vets, rescues, and local authorities. It is a DEFRA-compliant microchip database that lets keepers securely register their pet’s microchip details for a small fee, with unlimited lifetime contact updates and optional subscription perks.

The app pairs with the PetScanner smart microchip scanner to read FDX-B (15-digit) microchips in dogs, cats, and other animals, instantly displaying the chip number within the app. When scanned, PetScanner guides next steps based on the chip’s registration status: if registered with PetScanner, the keeper’s contact details are shown; if registered elsewhere, the relevant database is identified and contact information provided; if unregistered, the chip number is shown and registration can be completed. Note: a PetScanner scanner is required and cannot be used with a smartphone alone. EULA and Privacy Policy links are available.

This app is a fraudulent way to get your information. It’s a bald faced lie that it scans. This should not be on the App Store. Ever since Steve Jobs died Apple gets worse every year.
