Features & Capabilities

eXciteOSA is a clinically proven daytime treatment for mild obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and snoring that targets the root cause rather than just symptoms. Wear 20 minutes daily for six weeks, then twice weekly thereafter. The device uses painless tongue-muscle stimulation to keep the upper airway open during sleep and improve sleep quality.

The accompanying eXciteOSA app connects to the device via Bluetooth to activate therapy sessions, track progress, stay focused on therapy goals, and share sleep tips. The device is available in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, EU countries, and Australia.

User Reviews

The eXciteOSA app is broadly criticized for reliability and usability problems. Users cite frequent connectivity drops, sessions not recording progress, and loops from mandatory surveys that block treatment. The device’s operation hinges on a functioning app, meaning a malfunctioning app stops therapy. There are also UI issues such as missing battery indicators. A minority report sleep improvements and some responsive customer support, but the prevailing sentiment is frustration with stability, progress tracking, and support.
Pros
  • Some users report improved sleep quality when using the device.
  • Responsive customer service, including replacements when issues arise.
  • The app was described as easy to use in at least one positive review.
Cons
  • Unreliable app connectivity and session failures: users report the app drops connections, won’t connect, or fails to complete sessions.
  • App dependency: the device cannot be used without the app, so a broken or malfunctioning app bricks the therapy.
  • Persistent onboarding bugs: mandatory surveys or form loops that block progress or trap users in loops.
  • Sessions not recorded or progress lost: users explain countdowns, missed sessions, or credit/record issues during therapy.
  • Missing or unclear UI cues like battery level indicators, plus no low-battery alerts.

I appreciate ANYBODY who is trying to make an alternative to Cpap. Some of us poor miserable souls are desperate for a good night’s sleep and Cpap just makes us feel worse every morning. It is too soon to tell yet if this device is helping lower my apneas. However, I’ve had great customer service. The app worked great at first, then stopped working after my phone updated. I emailed the company and called them and they mailed me a new device that works with my phone. Very much appreciated.

The other reviews are accurate. The app doesn’t satisfy the basic use of the medical device. My iPhone14 has sporadic connection problems that prevent session completion. I upgraded to an iPhone17 and it’s STILL unsupported altogether.

There is no battery level indicator and the battery died in the third session not the 4-6 indicated in the directions. Feedback is only available in a few areas. What is the reaction time test, how does it work?
