User Reviews

Users like Fi for real-time GPS, safe-zone alerts, and lost-dog features, plus peace of mind from seeing activity and Dark Mode. However, repeated concerns include mandatory Always-on location and resulting privacy/battery impacts, data accuracy problems, setup/support challenges, intrusive notifications, and UX stability issues.
Pros
  • Real-time GPS tracking with accurate, timely safe-zone alerts
  • Lost dog feature / Lost mode to locate a missing dog quickly
  • Peace of mind from visibility of the dog's location and activity
  • Real-time activity tracking (steps and activity levels)
  • Dark mode across the app and maps for night use
Cons
  • forcible Always-on location sharing leading to privacy concerns and increased battery drain
  • Location data accuracy issues and mislabeling (e.g., classifying walks as car rides, not updating locations, always showing dog at home)
  • Connectivity/setup difficulties and limited customer support / difficult refunds for unused subscriptions
  • Intrusive or excessive notifications tied to location features that can’t be easily tuned
  • App UX stability issues (layers not sticking, heat map/regression affecting usability)

I have had Fi for a while. I have paid them hundreds of dollars. The collars will not hold a charge for longer than a week. They are claiming it’s my WiFi. They are not being helpful. I’ve gone back and forth with this. I just want to make sure my dogs are trackable, and this company is just straight up robbing me. 1 star until their technology works, or their service proves otherwise.

We went for a 5 mile hike in the wilderness, plus camping for a night. We were out of service for less than 24 hours. This collar requires that you leave the app running and have Bluetooth on. We did a very large hike and none of it was recorded and we spent a lot of time trying to pull it from the server. The goal was to not be on my phone so much, even though I had it on me, I would absolutely not recommend for adventures. My Bluetooth was on, but I hadn’t been meticulously opening the app to check its status. I do not want to be checking my phone the way this app requires while trying to enjoy nature. I have the location set to always, why is this not enough?? It doesn’t track well, and even on hikes with service and in the city, lost mode only gives an approximate location, and I’m better off listening for my pup than walking around where this app tells me to go. There needs to be a feature to manually upload activities. My watch perfectly recorded the hike, and it would be appropriate to be able to transfer that onto her app/device, even if the steps weren’t 100% accurate, it would be something. The hikes we have gone on with spotty service seem to do a better job tracking her steps, but think we went on like 6 segmented walks instead of one continuous hike. —so it’s not like the tracking location data would be right even with automatic uploads. Sometimes I get notifications she has left the safe zone when she’s still at home, and other times it doesn’t pick up we’ve left. I think this app needs a lot of work. For starters, manual adds of activities, and also much better tracking systems. I would not recommend this app for people who are adventurous with their pups. Ps. We have already tried contacting customer support and they will not email back
