User Reviews

Langrisser delivers deep strategic combat, a rich story, and abundant content, but is hampered by pay-to-win monetization, stingy gacha rates, energy-driven grinding, server fragmentation, and occasional login/tech issues. It rewards strategy fans who endure the grind; otherwise progression and accessibility frustrations detract from the experience.
Pros
  • Deep strategic, tactical combat requiring planning and skill, with rewarding end-game content.
  • Engaging story and faithful Langrisser IP with recognizable characters.
  • Huge amount of content and frequent updates, events, PvE and PvP, providing long-term play value.
  • Strong unit customization and faction/bond system adding meaningful team-building depth.
  • Playable without spending money; enjoyable for players who don’t want to whale.
Cons
  • Pay-to-win feel due to monetization and aggressive power creep; banners favor whales.
  • Very low or undisclosed summoning rates with pity issues (pity every 100 pulls) and no transparent rate info.
  • Energy/stamina gating and progression walls cause slow progression and heavy grind, especially for F2P players.
  • Server fragmentation and dwindling populations on older servers; new servers open frequently but many end up dead.
  • Login/account issues and occasional connectivity or download size problems that hamper access.

Love the turn based play style

1 star because I want to love this game but it’s impossible to play without sacrificing everything I love

Summon rates are still bad(has to be 1%for SSR still), you’ll be summoning the same 10 rares forever. The “pity pull mechanism is terrible, only occurring every 100 pulls. For the “wish” summons, through which you select 2 unit you want from an event or banner specific list guarantees one of the on the third pull, but that’s as good as it gets. CONSTANT banners, usually 3-4 up at a time, but the gems and tickets you gets through game play slow down as you progress, coming near to a halt at around the level 45 mark, so the banners are aimed at the whales. They do the whole multiple servers thing leading to(as any new player will notice) several mostly dead servers, consisting of basically the whales of server when it was new. So you have to join a new server, and it will be somewhat active the first few weeks(game has a terrible retention rate due to most of what I’m talking about). I’m on the newest one that begins with ac, and for joint battles(server wide, early to mid game multiplayer content) takes about a minute if you get lucky, sometimes takes 2-3 lobby resets(auto reset at 1:30 minutes)to get other players, usually max level people. When the game was newer you didn’t have to wait long at all and there would be lots of rooms open, now there’s none, you make, wait, and hope. Power creep is insane look at any unit from year one, and look at any released in the past year(especially the LLR). The progression walls still exist first wall is at 30, and continues on through at least 60(how far I made it on my old account years ago). Lots of sales that use FOMO(timers), and directly sale power(equipment, more unit summons, energy, character progression items). Game is the epitome of pay to win(as mention before and after this, it’s pay to progress past certain points depending on luck with drops and summons). The wall in question is a combination or enemies having much greater stats than what you characters can achieve at the same(and in some cases much higher levels, again I remember enemies being stronger at 50-55 than my units, a few of which shad all SSR gear at 4-5 stars, on 4-5 star SSR units) level. Stamina is a major issue still, used for everything in increments of 5(and only like 3 events having a requirement this low) with the average being 15. Cap is the 120 at all points of account progression, and I believe is like 5 minutes for 1 unit recovery. From what I see in guilds and friend request and such across a few servers, average time a new player(free to play I’m guessing) quits seems to be about 27, might be lower because joint guilds and making friends both have level progression requirements. If you do play, don’t spend, as the server will be mostly dead within a month maybe 2, then they’ll open a new server, and it fully dies, leaving only the whales who were dumb enough to spend tens of thousands(not an exaggeration, and that’s on the light end)on the game. Lot more, but I’m tired, bored, gave the gist. TLDR- the game is pay to win and progress(at a decent pace, post account level 40 or so), and it’s basically dead, but they get enough whales whenever they make a new server(which is every few months) so that keeps the game going.
