Features & Capabilities

SmartRope is a fitness app from Tangram Factory that connects to LED, PURE, or ROOKIE Smart Rope devices to show and manage workout stats in real time. It offers Basic Count modes (Jump, Calories, Time, Daily Target), Interval Training, Leaderboard, History graphs, and a Competition feature to share workouts with other users, helping you stay motivated and reach daily goals.

Note: Smart Rope app is separate from Smart Gym—compatibility requires resubscribing. It also supports login via Google/Facebook/Email, Apple Health integration, and wireless firmware updates. More features are planned through regular updates.

User Reviews

SmartRope is praised for its clever concept, solid hardware, portability, and motivating features like the jump counter, interval training, and leaderboards that encourage consistency. Many users report quick Bluetooth pairing and enjoyable use. However, widespread reliability issues undermine the experience: workouts are not saved, jump counting is inaccurate or resets, crashes are common, and Bluetooth/connectivity plus cross-device syncing frequently fails. Users also want time-based intervals and better data export to health ecosystems.
Pros
  • Strong concept and hardware design; the rope and handles feel solid and portable.
  • Motivational features drive engagement: jump counter, interval training, and leaderboards that encourage consistent workouts.
  • Easy Bluetooth pairing and straightforward initial connection to the rope.
  • Portability and everyday usability—the rope goes anywhere you work out.
  • Active development with ongoing app updates and attention to improvements.
Cons
  • Data logging failures: workouts are not saved or history is lost.
  • Jump counting inaccuracies: counts are wrong, reset unexpectedly, or duplicate counts.
  • Frequent crashes and instability during use.
  • Bluetooth/connectivity problems: rope won’t connect and syncing across devices is unreliable.
  • Weak cross-platform health integration and export options (Apple Health/Watch) and limited health data sharing.

Still no update - changed battery reset phone and bt connection. Again the app will show a workout, but not log it or show any historical data. 02/15/2026 app just stopped working, will connect to the rope and record a workout session but it doesn’t appear to have and data saved once closed. No previous activity and says it’s up to date!

My Rookie rope goes everywhere with me so I can work out anywhere. The design is perfect. I give the smart rope itself 5 stars, but give the app 3 stars for the simple fact that iPhone app and the AppleTV do not sync. So if you work out in front of your TV without your phone or watch, your acuity does count. The TV allows you to compete with family or friends. There should be a simple way to sync both apps.

I love the concept and I just used it for the first time today. I like the handles and the rope. I’m 5’10” and the length is good for me. I have it at the longest—maybe i’ll shorten it up as I become more proficient and develop a feel for the right length. too early to determine that. I like the basic count feature and the interval training feature along with the leaderboards and ability to compete with friends! Only request I have is to have an interval training that is based on time and not count. I want to have a 2 minute timer (or whatever time I want to set) and just jump as much as i can for that full time then break and repeat for however many reps. I can track my progress by seeing how many jumps I clock over time. Just prefer committing to jumping for a certain amount of time instead of having to do it for a certain amount of jumps (or going outside the app to get an interval timer.
