Features & Capabilities

HackMotion Golf pairs a wearable wrist sensor with motion-tracking to analyze wrist motion during golf swings. It visualizes data in real-time, including wrist flexion/extension and radial/ulnar deviation, with a 3D hand model and configurable audio biofeedback.

Automatic swing detection and swing-phase detection (address, top, impact) help coaches and advanced players track progress. All session data is stored for review, and calibration is supported to tailor feedback to each user. Note that a connection to the wrist sensor is required to use the main features.

User Reviews

Users praise HackMotion Golf for data-driven feedback, helpful tutorials, and frequent app updates, along with solid hardware and a no-subscription price. The development team is seen as responsive with ongoing improvements. However, several reviewers report intermittent swing detection, which undermines data trust, and experiences with support vary from highly responsive to slow responses. Overall, it’s a powerful training aid for serious golfers, with caveats about data reliability and support experience.
Pros
  • Clear, data-driven feedback with instant, actionable insights (biofeedback, numbers, tutorials and drills) that help understand and improve your swing.
  • Regular app updates and ongoing feature enhancements, showing the developers' commitment.
  • No ongoing subscription; one-time purchase value.
  • High-quality hardware that provides meaningful wrist/hand insights and diagnostic capability.
  • Strong support and active involvement from the HackMotion team.
Cons
  • Intermittent swing detection issues: swings not consistently captured or registered, reducing data reliability.
  • Mixed or inconsistent support responsiveness: some users report slow or unhelpful responses while others praise support.

Adding more features and better drills. Definitely have a better understanding of the golf swing

No matter how long I tried, the golf swing happens too fast for me to understand what’s going on and what I need to change with my swing. I’ve bought more golf training aides than I can count, including a $2000 launch monitor - this device has by far been the best for me. It tells me the brutal truth about my swing, then gives lots of easy to understand tutorials and drills to help me improve. The other thing I love is the HackMotion team continues make updates to the app to provide more useful data and features. This device and the app are a must if you’re serious about improving your golf game, even if you’re getting lessons.

I’ve had the hack motion now for about a year and have now gone through two or three app updates. It seems to me every time I experience an app I see less and less swings being captured.
