Features & Capabilities

TrackMyGolf Golf Swing Analyzer ++ uses your Apple Watch sensors to capture up to 100 samples per second, displaying your swing in 3D from any angle. It reports hand swing speed, tempo, swing plane, impact angle, swing path, grip angle, and golf swing power, with all data stored in the cloud for convenient review later.

Advantages include no hardware to buy, no calibration, and support for both left- and right-handed golfers. Sign in to iCloud to store swings, and note that watchOS 3 is required. The watch app will invoke HealthKit to start a golf workout session when you press Start, and you can End Session to save battery.

User Reviews

Users praise the app’s compelling 3D swing analytics and watch-based visuals, and see value for the price, but repeatedly report accuracy problems, reliability bugs, and paywall frustrations. The lack of a user manual or metric definitions further undermines usefulness, while left-handed support and multi-device licensing pose extra hurdles. Overall, it offers promising swing visualization for quick practice, but its effectiveness is hampered by data accuracy, stability, and licensing issues that many reviews cite.
Pros
  • Powerful 3D swing analytics and mapping using the Apple Watch accelerometer.
  • Solid value for the price with insightful premium features.
  • Swing detection and visualization helps you learn swing patterns.
  • The data is interesting and reveals meaningful swing insights.
  • Reconstructs the swing path well, aiding range work.
Cons
  • Measurements can be inaccurate—grip angle and swing path often off and hard to calibrate.
  • Reliability issues and bugs: sometimes fails to record or save swings; playback/UI glitches.
  • Freemium/paywall model blocks core features; expensive for what you get; per-device licensing adds friction.
  • Lack of documentation and metric explanations; no manual to interpret data.
  • Limited left-handed support and cross-device transfer/licensing issues; updates appear infrequent.

App is not accurate with grip- says strong grip when I actually have a relatively weak grip. Also not very accurate with swing path. Shows way inside - like 10° inside of what the trackman will show. I ended up over the top and couldn’t figure out what was going on until I compare the numbers. Hasn’t been updated in years so they’re just keeping it live to collect money but doing nothing to keep it useful or accurate. Wish I hadn’t paid for this!
