User Reviews

iMPC Pro 2 for iPhone offers a portable MPC-like environment with features like Spotify import and AU plugin support, appealing for on-the-go beat sketching. However, it is plagued by frequent bugs and crashes, a painful sample-import workflow, unreliable Spotify integration, and limited developer support. The perceived value is diminished by slow updates and perceived price-gouging. It’s powerful in theory, but reliability and support need substantial improvement.
Pros
  • Spotify import feature is a standout benefit when it works.
  • Pocket MPC-like workflow on iPhone for on-the-go beat sketching.
  • Fast, intuitive workflow for quickly sketching ideas and prototyping.
  • Good compatibility with third-party AudioUnit plugins (AU) for expansion.
Cons
  • Frequent bugs, glitches, and crashes (including random crashes and audio dropouts).
  • Difficult sample import workflow and reliance on external apps like AudioCopy; files import and sharing are problematic.
  • Spotify integration is unreliable or broken in practice (connectivity/imports failing).
  • Poor developer support and slow or no updates; lack of responsiveness to issues.
  • Perceived high price relative to issues and gating of features (paying more for limited functionality).

I purchased several kits, copy paste and now they don’t work after a few days. App crashes randomly, all the bells and whistles in a app that does perform the basic functions correctly.
