Users repeatedly report login failures and unstable performance, with rewards misfiring and unclear pricing. The app’s map UI often hides price information, and integration of the rewards program is confusing. While some praise exists for in-app payments (Shell Pay) and occasional offers, reliability and proper discount application remain the dominant complaints.

Frequent sign-in/login issues and the app often won’t load or stay connected.

UI/UX problems make price visibility hard (map doesn’t clearly show prices) and navigation around rewards is confusing.
Customer support for rewards changes is poor; merger/transition of rewards programs has caused confusion and frustration.

Recent reviews

The new Shell app is not as good as the old Fuel Rewards app. I prefer how the FR app shows the fuel prices directly on the map. With the Shell app you now have the extra step of scrolling through the station list to find the lowest priced stations after accessing the map. I will continue to use the FR app until this bug is fixed in the Shell app.

I have my account linked and never ever receive my fuel rewards toward the price per a gallon. Shell is a joke please stay far far away from they lure you in with big rewards but they never apply! Such a total scam. We need to report them to the FTC for false advertising. I’ll be submitting my claim today. Here we come class action lawsuit
