Features & Capabilities

CEPHER Abridged Edition is a Chrome extension that emphasizes transliteration over substitution, providing transliteration for the names of Yahuah, Yahusha, and Ruach Ha'Qodesh, and rendering over 3,100 other Hebrew names and places with English definitions and pronunciations. It restores the standalone Aleph Tav את throughout the text, includes the 66 books commonly found in English Bibles, and reorders them as they were originally written while correcting many translation errors.

It also enables easy searching by keyword, book, chapter, or verse, and offers daily Hebrew prayers on the home page, light/dark modes, and links to Torah portions and other resources. Users can copy up to five verses at a time, and a paid Cepher App upgrade adds note-taking with seven color highlights, cloud-sync, and a Lexicon of transliterated Hebrew terms, with expanded features for study.

User Reviews

Users praise CEPHER Abridged Edition for restoring sacred names, a broad content library, a free base app, and useful features like bookmarks and syncing. Common drawbacks center on pricing and upgrade gating, licensing across platforms, technical/UX issues (loading freezes, broken search, limited highlights), and translation/style concerns (verse changes, capitalization). Overall, strong content with notable licensing and usability caveats.
Pros
  • Restored sacred names in text (e.g., YAHUAH and YAHUSHUA) are consistently praised.
  • Broad library including all books plus extra/apocryphal materials is valued.
  • Free base app with optional paid upgrades is appreciated by users.
  • Bookmarking, notes, and cross-device syncing; the app is well organized.
  • Easy navigation and passage-finding usability is highlighted by several reviewers.
Cons
  • Expensive upfront cost and contentious pricing structure.
  • Some books are gated behind paid upgrades; not all content is accessible from the start.
  • Cross-platform licensing issues require re-purchasing when moving between devices/OS (e.g., Android to iOS).
  • Technical/UI problems reported include freezing on load, a non-functional or limited search, and only being able to highlight a small number of verses.
  • Translation/style concerns, including verse changes in updates and capitalization decisions for names/pronouns.

Honestly, I don’t know what this is. It’s not right that people take joy in switching up the word of the Most High. I definitely don’t recommend this version. Please give the original version.
