Features & Capabilities

Cepher is a transliterated Bible collection that restores much of what has been removed or misinterpreted in traditional translations. It presents the את Cepher with names transliterated rather than substituted, restores the Aleph Tav throughout the text, and includes 87 books by combining the 81 canonical books with six additional works (including Enoch and Jubilees). It also reorders the books to reflect original writing and highlights notable textual corrections.

The Cepher App supports fast search by keyword, book, chapter, or verse, and adds features like cloud-synced notes, color highlighting, a Hebrew lexicon, daily prayers, Torah portion links, and access to related articles. A one-time purchase covers future updates, and you can copy up to five verses at a time.

User Reviews

Overall user sentiment highlights strong cloud syncing, a modern interface, and convenient mobile access as clear positives. However, the app faces recurring issues with incomplete or nonexistent search, unreliable cloud syncing and data loss, lack of audio reading, crashes or blank screens on newer devices, and dissatisfaction with content changes and removal of prayers. Support responsiveness also appears inconsistent. The top asks are to restore reliable search, stabilize syncing and compatibility, reintroduce audio, and address content integrity.
Pros
  • Cloud syncing for notes and scripture across devices (Apple/iCloud) reduces lost data.
  • Modern, user-friendly interface with a daily scripture on the front screen; improved search for names.
  • Improved search feature for transliterated names.
  • Convenient mobile app for on-the-go study.
Cons
  • Search is missing or subpar/incomplete across texts.
  • Cloud syncing is unreliable; requires manual saves and can lead to lost data.
  • No audio/read-aloud functionality; users want listening capability.
  • Reliability issues: blank/white screens and compatibility problems on newer devices (e.g., iPhone 16 Pro Max/iOS 18).
  • Content changes and removal of prayers raise concerns about accuracy and continuity.

We really need the ability to search for notes. Hope this is in the works.

I like having the CEPHER, as an app on my phone. I just wish it had an option to red it for you, especially on days when your spirit is feeling lowly.

There is no search option for my notes! Been asking for this for years now!
