Features & Capabilities

The Rexton App enables users with Rexton hearing aids (2014 or later) to safely and conveniently adjust and control their devices using a smartphone. Basic functions include multiple listening programs, volume control, sound balance, and a tinnitus signal, along with battery status and usage data.

Availability and features depend on the hearing aid model, platform, service package, and regional offerings. The app provides access to the user guide inside the app or downloadable from www.wsaud.com, and supports hearing success tracking for ongoing audiologist review.

User Reviews

User reviews show the app can be effective when it works, notably with Live Listen and Speech Boost and useful hearing-aid controls. However, recurring issues limit its value: frequent Bluetooth pairing/connectivity problems, crashes during streaming, accessibility barriers for screen readers, missing/hidden features and poor UI, and slow or lacking developer support. Overall, reliability and accessibility are common pain points, while the core features remain beneficial for some users when the app behaves correctly.
Pros
  • Live Listen and Speech Boost are helpful for understanding speech in noisy environments, and updates to these features are provided for free.
  • For some users, the app is stable and easy to use, and it helps refine hearing aid usage.
  • When it functions properly, the app offers effective control over hearing aid programs and settings.
Cons
  • Frequent Bluetooth connectivity and pairing problems; devices fail to connect or pair after updates.
  • Crashes and instability, especially during streaming or when using the TV sound transmitter; the app can get stuck.
  • Accessibility issues for visually impaired users; not fully compatible with VoiceOver/screen readers, making many features unusable for some.
  • Limited or unclear feature visibility and usability; inability to save favorite settings or customize programs; battery status often not shown; confusing or non-intuitive controls.
  • Poor developer support and responsiveness, with reports of no or slow responses to issues.
Recent reviews
Hearing aid and microphone volume are both low enough to be unusable for phone calls. Streaming volume from all sources is too low. App provides only very basic controls. Online adjustment feature is very limited, only affects the Automatic program, and when adjustments are removed the programming reverts to the factory basic unadjusted state, thus deleting any adjustments made by your audiologist. I do not recommend the Rexton Reach aid from Costco as it is not recognized by Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max as MFI Certified despite Rexton’s advertising and thus certain Apple adjustment menus for hearing aid adjustment are unavailable.

The adjustments (volume, balance, etc) are easy to make but there’s no option to lock them in. I have to readjust them every morning.
