User Reviews

Most reviews condemn KastleResident for unreliability and poor support. The app often fails to unlock doors, crashes or freezes, and leaves users locked out. Usability issues (copy/paste guest numbers, intrusive video permissions) and privacy concerns are common, along with missing features (Wallet/Watch) and partial functionality across doors. A few notes suggest it can work for some entrances, but overall reliability and responsiveness are major drawbacks.
Pros
  • Provides digital building entry when the app functions, supplementing physical key fobs.
  • Aims to manage guest/visitor access through the app.
  • Designed to control multiple access points (doors, entry kiosks) from one app.
Cons
  • Unreliable access: doors frequently fail to unlock and users report being locked out or unable to access doors when needed.
  • Frequent crashes and instability: the app often crashes on launch, freezes, or closes unexpectedly.
  • Poor or unresponsive customer support: repeated issue escalation yields little to no follow-up or fixes.
  • Usability and privacy concerns: users report being unable to copy/paste guest phone numbers, repeated camera/video permission prompts, and privacy worries about video access.
  • Missing features and partial functionality: inconsistent performance across doors/elevators and lack of features like Apple Wallet/Apple Watch support.
Recent reviews
I’ll give it 2 stars because it works for me. That being said, I had my son download it because he needed in my building to take care of my pet when I was gone. Since only one person can use it, it deleted me. I have a vidcom entry service for weekend or after hour deliveries. It’s been calling my son for entry and he’s been ignoring it because it comes up as an unknown number. The app makes the user enter the email and phone number of the resident and reroutes to the phone the app is on. While it seems like a great idea for keyless entry, there are bugs that need to be worked out for non resident relatives.

Was working fine, if slow. But ever since I updated the app it just spins and then gives me error message.
