Features & Capabilities

Tabletopia is a digital online platform for playing board games just like in real life. There is no AI to enforce the rules. Read the rulebook, pick a seat at the virtual table, and let the game begin. Play solo, hotseat, or online multiplayer, and even create digital versions of your own games to promote, playtest, and demonstrate them.

Currently 80+ games are available, including Champions of Midgard, The Shipwreck Arcana, Hansa Teutonica, Sub Terra, Burgle Bros, and Tuscany. Explore the Featured catalog to discover more titles as we continuously adapt games from our extensive web catalog into mobile format.

User Reviews

Review consensus: Tabletopia on iOS shows strong potential for solo play and mobile access but is held back by stability and UX problems—crashes, loading delays, login barriers, and library navigation issues—along with laggy multiplayer and a pricey subscription. Content gaps and missing features (SSO, search/filter) are also recurring complaints. Some users praise solo options and social play, but overall the app needs significant fixes to be reliable.
Pros
  • Great for solo gaming with many solo options
  • Mobile play is convenient and accessible
  • Fast and intuitive interface for some users
  • Good for connecting with others to play board games
Cons
  • Frequent crashes, freezes, and loading issues (library navigation, reading rules, starting games)
  • Login/sign-in problems across devices; Google sign-in not supported; inconsistent credentials
  • Library navigation and content issues (scrolling problems, 50% loading stops, update/download loops, poor search/filter)
  • Multiplayer performance problems (lag, desync, black screen) making online play unreliable
  • Subscription cost viewed as poor value and a barrier to use

I tried to download two different games to try this out, and did not succeed in installing either. Each of the two games seemed to download just fine, but immediately afterwards wanted me to click on the button again to “update game.” This became an infinite loop, the update never being succesful. (Trickerion, and Tokaido Duo).
