User Reviews

Most reviews describe Yale Secure as unreliable and hard to use. The most recurrent issues are: app crashes on launch; inability to add, view, or delete codes; HomeKit compatibility problems; poor or slow connection to the lock; and updates/iOS changes breaking features. A rare positive note mentions quick setup after a factory reset, but overall feedback is dominated by bugs, instability, and frustration. Users repeatedly call for fixes or refunds.
Pros
  • Occasionally easy plug-and-play setup after a factory reset.
  • Support can be helpful when encountering setup problems.
Cons
  • App crashes on launch or won't open consistently.
  • Cannot add/view/delete codes; code management features are broken.
  • HomeKit integration isn't working / not compatible.
  • Unreliable/slow connection to the lock; difficult to pair.
  • Updates or iOS changes frequently break features (PINs/codes not loading after updates).
Recent reviews
Almost never works. Have to force kill it multiple times before it can read the lock, sometimes even then it doesn’t load. Hasn’t worked with HomeKit in a year or more. Would not buy again.

if you can’t add people or codes, take yourself off of your local Wi-Fi. This app works a lot better when it’s not connected to the local network.
